Mini album-March's CTMH SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome, you should have arrived here from
Alyson's

There are times when I look at a stamp and think {this is so not my style} and this month was one of those times. I am definately two-step stamping challenged, and this month's stamp set screamed two-step, two-step..... And I know others create awesome works of art with this technique, but not me.

And then I thought, what else is on this set?

 The sentiments.
  Awesome.
Those I could work with.
I pulled out the Surf's Up paper pack (X7168B) and stickease (X7168C)
added a little "bling" a cut a few pages using the cricut Art Philosphy catridge
and Volia!!

Now, at this stage of the post you have two options
1. Click here to continue the hop
and see what Karen has created
or
2. continue scrolling down to see the rest of the album
and then click on the link at the end of the post to continue the hop.

Your Choice.

Oh, I'm so glad you decided to see the rest of the mini
The front cover (above) has a pull out tag

the last of Nick's Birthday Album

Hope you have enjoyed the "reveal".  Nick received his album in the mail just the other day.
 He was pretty excited.
Here are the last few pages

Back cover

I try to make my mini albums fun to look at,
with pockes, and tags and interactive pieces sprinkled throughout.
Which may be why children like them.

a bit more of Nick's Birthday Album

This album went together super quick & easy...thanks to the CTMH Cricut  Art Philophy cartrigde
(available only thru Close to My Heart--you can click here if you live in Canada to order yours)

I have a number of cricut cartridge, but the Art Philosphy is the one that lives in my machine.
I used it to cut the circles, the arrows, the "tab" pages, and  the tags.  The rectangles--I did manually.

more of Nick's birthday album

Here's a quick look at the first couple of pages

I cut the 6x6 album in half, then used one half for the front cover & one for the back.
I made a pocket by cutting off one corner (as shown above)
Below is the inside of the front cover

Above is the how the inside of the front cover looks like
when it's all done.  Big pocket with a photo mat insert
and a mini envelope with a birthday card inside.

Altered 6x6 accordian album--for Nick's Birthday

Ever get those days when you think....why did I start this?
That's what I was thinking today as I remembered
that last year I made my nephew a "superhero" mini album for his birthday.
He LOVED it.
And his birthday is right around the corner
And I feel obligated to send him another AWESOME mini album.

This is what I came up with

It all started with this

a few "art philosophy cricut" cut pages, tags & shapes
and volia

You should have arrived here from Cheryl's. Below is my two page layout featuring the For Always paper pack

I used an assortment of hidden tags to conceal the "information" about each family.
Below is a close up of the first page, as you can see there is a pocket behind the photo mat,  and another tag behind the photo and a huge tag behind the page.  Check back throughout the month as I showcase more of this ablum.

Now on to see Janet's layout.

CTMH New Product Blog Hop

Welcome, you should have arrived here from Jody's Blog. This New Idea Book is chocked full of awesome new products.  I have been toying with the idea of creating a family history book for some time and when I saw the new For Always  paper, I knew I had finally found the perfect paper for my project.
Take a look at the cover page.

I have pondered the delimma of how to create the perfect book for our family.
I finally hit upon the idea of multiple pockets, and hidden tags.
So, you have a huge (8" x 11") tag hidden behind the page for the person's story
you also have three layers of pockets at the bottom.
Why you ask.
For more tags--one layer for his or her spouse
then their children
and grandchildren.
Your next stop on the hop is Tamytha's

You can see the next two pages in the album in my next post (which also goes live February 15th and is also another blog hop, this one showcases consultants from across Canada  -click here it will open in a new window)
