May SOTM Blog Hop

Okay, I've finally taken the plunge and made the commitment to join the Stamp of the Month blog hop.
You should have arrived here from Carol's Blog unless you are just joining the hop, if this is the case you can begin the hop right here with me.  Just click on the link at the end of each post and you will hop on over to the next creative blog.

I thought I would just do a card.....
and this is what I came up with....
Supplies for this card
May SOTH
Dotty for You paper
Cocoa ink
Cocoa paper
3D foam tape
Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel

But then I got to thinking...hmmm....I wonder??
I have a wooden frame from the dollar store, can I stamp directly on to it?
(Well, I thought, it's only a $1, if it doesn't work)
and this is how it turned out
I wasn't quite happy with it so I added some ribbon

Hope you are inspired by this, but if you need a bit more inspiration
hop on over to  Lori's Blog

if you get lost along the way you can find a complete list of the blogs
here

project life--CTMH style--pt #1--an overview

Project life,
Project life,
Project life....
I kept hearing this, but wasn't sure what it was.
(Thankfully, you can find anything on the web)
And this is what I found.
It was coined by Becky Higgins (click on her name to go to her site)
and is scrapbooking/photo book/journal/smash book
-- simplified all in one kinda system.
Sound confusing?
 Well, I was confused,
until I realized that this has been here before,
but Becky just updated it.
Of course it's quicker if you buy Becky's
But more personal if you do it my way.

Supplies
Dotty for You Paper Pack
(actually, you could use any CTMH paper pack,  they are all co-ordinating)
Colonial White Cardstock
paper trimmer
corner rounder
stamps & or stickers of your choice
memory protectors--photo storage pages
(Z1324--vertical & 4113--horizontal)
Recipe Box Z1322
Work-in-Progress Album (Z1348)

Save time...stack 3 paper and cut them all at once

At this stage of the game I cut a sheet of white cardstock
into 4x6 pieces, and then cut some of them into 2x6 & 3x4 pieces
stamped some words & journaling lines on them
rounded the corners, and I'm done

Now, store them in our recipe box
until you're ready to work on your "project life"
So, if I had picture developed I would pop them in a couple of spots
pick out some paper accents,
maybe add a sticker and some journaling
pop them into our photo storage pages
and
Voila!!
Project Life....CTMH Style
I will be posting more info on how to make your own "life project"

It's Dotty Time--#7

So, if you have been checking in here the last few days,
you probably noticed I've gone "dotty"
I'm going to let you in on a little secret...shhhh.....
I have been creating all these items, plus more to come with very limited supplies.

The two key items to most of my projects
**April Stamp of the Month (S1204--$17.95 or $5 if you order is over $50)
**Dotty Paper Promo ($5 if your order is over $35)

hmm...how to get those two promo?
Here's an idea...

X1410   50pack colonial white envelopes (4 1/4 x 5 1/2)   $14.95
C1494   Card Word Puzzle stamp set                                  $13.95
X5912  Dark Neutral Shade Pack (cardstock)                     $  7.95
X5901  Colonial White Cardstock (6 pack)                        $  2.95
hmmmm..let's add it up so far.......................................... ..$39.80
alright! you can add the dotty promo      ........................ ...$  5.00 (retail $17.95)

Z1263  Bitty Sparkles                                                          $  2.95
Z1707  Bitty Pearls                                                              $  2.95
Z1702  Bakers Twine--paradise assortment                        $  4.95
hmmm..let's add it now...............................................         $55.65
Bingo...you can get the stamp of the month for                  $  5.00   (retail $19.95)
and you have enough supplies to make a zillion (okay, maybe I exagerate) projects

I also used
X5914  light yellow and orange cardstock                      $7.95--used the buttercup
X5907  light green shade cardstock                                 $7.95--used the sweet leaft
X5904  dark blue shade cardstock                                   $7.95--used the lagoon
and the co-ordinating inks, sponge daubers a couple of other stamp sets (D1482--love life--$17.95 and few that are retired)  Oh don't forget adhesive--my choice 1514 (tombow & the refill--1515)

And over the next few days, I will show you more and more items
created using these supplies.
Take a look at today's feature......

Okay, I deviated a bit on the "supplies used" on this one
basically, cause I'm home now and have access to my craft stash
so I added some
Z1464                Milepost Shapes ($3.95)
Z1333     Mocha Adhesive Gems  ($2.95)
Z1383            Sweet Leaf Stiched ($7.95)
and the stamp set included in the "footloose" WOTG kit ($29.95)

It's Dotty Time--sneak peak at what's coming & my "freshly made submission"

and thought I can do that...
the rules are quite simple (click on the link above to take to you the site)
this is the sketch that I based my card on.

Supplies:
Grey wool ink & cardstock
Card Word Puzzle  stamp set
and a few bitty brads
and the "dotty" Apil/May promo paper from CTMH

A little "Dotty" mini

I haven't made one of these in a while, and since I am on a holiday
and only brought a very, very few supplies.
this is what I decided to do.

Supplies
1273         Dessert Sand Cardstock
CC1017   Dotty for You B & T collection
Z2153      Sweet Leaf inkpad
Z2195      Lagoon inkpad
S1204      April SOTM--You are...
Z1383     Sweet Leaf Ribbon
C1466     Instant Memories Stamp set

I used 4 (12 x 6) pieces of dessert sand carstock to build this album.
I basically did a gatefold with a twist, I scored each piece at 2" and 8"

Now for some pic's of the album as it unfolds
 the cover--opened
flipped once
This is how the album unfolds
you have 4 pages with picture mats
and 3 pocket flaps

I made journaling blocks for the one side of the insert pages
and left the back side blank
this is a pic of the album as you are closing it up
I made all pages & pullout pretty much the same.
sorry for not including more detailed instructions.....
but I am on a holiday
and just didn't have the time to photo step by step instructions.

Spring Break--a mini for my daughter and her BFF

My daughter & I are on a road trip
with her BFF and her mom
1155km one way
from our little home town of Three Hills
to Parksville BC.
My daughter and I made
trip journals for the two girls
Tiff made the covers (below)

And I made five flip out pages

I used a 12" x 7" piece of cardstock for each page
scored at 7" (see above)
I also added a 2" strip  of patterned paper
on the inside (the side where the holes are) of each page
and a 1" strip on the outside edge.
Below are a few samples
 This is the first page,
most of the pages I left blank or added "suggestive" heading
like this page "instant memories"
On the inside cover,
I adhered a 6 x 6 memory flip flap
and filled it with journaling prompts
Now the rest is up to them...
check back in a couple of days to see what they have done with this mini

10,000 and counting

Well, almost.
I started this blog ages ago, and sporatically posted posts. (say that ten times fast)
I got discouraged, seeing almost no activity on my visitor counter.
But then,
I woke up and started posting more often
and posting more "stuff"
and now I am close to 10,000 visitors.
I am amazed and thankful that you have chosen to visit my site.
And I hope you continue to visit
and leave comments.
Thank you.

and your done...
This is a great way to use up your stash

envelope album--pt 4--mini booklets

In the part 3, I told you that I took a 6 x 10 piece of card stock and scored it at 5".
This makes a little 4 page booklet
see below

Voila!! the first booklet is complete
Well, unless you want to dress the pages up a bit like I did here (above)
I used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the flourish and flowers

Now on to the second and last booklet
cutting dimensions are in the photo below

Here I slice the flourish and put part of it on each page.
I also did NOT
put glue behind the part of the flower that extends over the photo area
This allows me to slide a picture behind the flower.
cutting dimensions below
This is the back cover of the booklet,
I matted a verse on some green cardstock and
added another flourish/flower.
Ta da!!
the album is ready to use.
